IN-HOUSE ECU REPAIRS, NO DEALER WAIT

When your ECU or control module fails, most workshops send the unit interstate or quote a full dealer replacement — two options that routinely take 3–6 weeks and cost thousands. At CADE Technologies, we repair and reprogram the unit in-house on the same bench used to build calibrations for our performance clients.

Our Adelaide-engineered CADE-FLASH platform reads, repairs, and reflashes Bosch MED and EDC families, Siemens/Continental SIM and MS units, Delphi, Marelli, VAG MED9/MED17, and BMW MSD/MSV/MEVD/MG1 units. Typical turnaround is 1–2 business days once the unit lands on the bench.

Whether it's water-damaged PCBs, dealer-locked firmware, immobiliser mismatches, or a full clone to a donor shell — we do it all under one roof in Largs North.

THE ECU REPAIR PROCESS

Four steps from fault to reinstalled, road-tested unit.

01

DROP-OFF & DIAGNOSIS

Drop the vehicle or mail in the unit. We perform a full bench and vehicle-side diagnostic to confirm the root cause before quoting.

02

REPAIR OR REPROGRAM

We carry out component-level repair, firmware rewriting, cloning or coding as required — using the CADE-FLASH platform and OEM tooling.

03

BENCH TEST VALIDATION

Every repaired unit is powered up and communicated with on the bench before it leaves the workshop, verifying all critical inputs and outputs.

04

REINSTALL & ROAD TEST

Unit reinstalled, coded to vehicle if required, and road-tested to confirm fault resolution. Repair warranty documentation issued on collection.

ECU REPAIR FAQ

What's the typical turnaround for an ECU repair?

Most ECU repairs at CADE Technologies are completed within 1–2 business days once we have the unit on the bench. Dealer workflows for the same repair typically quote 2–4 weeks. We offer both drop-off and mail-in options for interstate clients.

Do you fix water-damaged ECUs?

Yes. Water and moisture ingress is one of the most common failure modes we see, particularly on under-bonnet DME units. We ultrasonic clean the PCB, repair corroded traces, replace damaged components, and bench-test before reinstallation. If the unit is unrecoverable, we can clone your data to a donor shell.

Can you fix dealer-locked ECUs?

Yes. CADE Technologies uses our in-house CADE-FLASH platform to read, repair, and reprogram ECUs that have been locked or coded out at the dealer. We support manufacturer security protocols for BMW, Mercedes, VAG, Porsche and more without voiding SCN/coding data.

Do you clone ECUs for MIL or immobiliser issues?

Yes. We regularly clone ECUs and engine modules to bypass immobiliser, CAS, FRM or EIS mismatches. This is faster and far cheaper than a full dealer recode, and retains your original calibration and mileage data.

What ECU and module brands do you work on?

We work on Bosch MED and EDC families, Siemens/Continental SIM and MS units, Delphi DCM, Marelli IAW, VAG MED9/MED17/MED41, BMW MSD/MSV/MEVD/MG1 and Mercedes ME9/MED40/MED177 amongst many others. Transmission, ABS, airbag, BCM, CAS, FRM and EIS modules are also supported.

Do you need the vehicle to complete the repair?

For most repairs we only need the unit itself. Remove it, send or drop it off, and we'll repair and post it back with reinstallation instructions. For security-coded modules we may need the vehicle on-site for the final adaptation step.
