Our Dynotech AWD dynamometer is an Australian-designed and built eddy-current AWD chassis dyno rated to 1,500+ hp per axle. It uses proper load-cell torque measurement (not just calculated values from acceleration), which means figures are repeatable, accurate, and directly comparable across sessions.

We use SAE J1349 correction factors to adjust for ambient conditions, so a 500hp figure today will still read 500hp on a hot day next week. That repeatability is critical for proper tune development — we can validate real changes, not just weather.

Need a genuine dyno sheet for insurance, resale or race-class verification? We provide signed reports with printouts suitable for any official purpose.

BOOK SESSION

Choose a dyno pull, custom tune, or validation session. We confirm your vehicle and drive type for strap-down config.

PRE-INSPECTION

Visual check of tyres, fluids, belts. Vehicle strapped to dyno rollers with proper tie-down. Cooling fans positioned.

DYNO PULLS

Three correlated runs from 2000–redline. We monitor AFR, knock, coolant, and IAT on every pull.

REPORT & GRAPH

Printed graph, signed report, and email PDF. Figures SAE J1349 corrected. Ready for insurance, resale, or bragging rights.

Independent tuners, workshops and enthusiasts can hire our Dynotech AWD by the hour, with an operator included. You get the same strap-down, cooling and SAE J1349-corrected reporting we use for every CADE calibration.

Buying a used tuned car? A pre-purchase validation session gives you baseline pulls, an ECU read for the tune version, a fault-code scan and a written report on what the car is actually making. Hire rates and minimum session times are in the dyno FAQ below.

DYNO FAQ

Do you offer dyno hire?

Yes. We offer hourly dyno hire on our Dynotech AWD dynamometer for other workshops, private tuners, and enthusiasts wanting to validate their own tunes. Cost is $250/hour (inc GST) with operator included. Book a minimum 2-hour session.

What's the difference between wheel HP and engine HP?

Engine HP (crank HP) is measured at the flywheel before power loss through drivetrain, transmission, and differentials. Wheel HP (what our dyno measures) is the actual power reaching the wheels. Typical drivetrain loss is 15–25% depending on the vehicle — a 500hp (at the crank) manufacturer claim might measure 400–425 wheel HP.

How accurate is your dyno?

Our Dynotech AWD dynamometer uses eddy-current absorbers with a measured accuracy of ±1% under controlled conditions. We correct for atmospheric conditions (temperature, humidity, barometric pressure) using SAE J1349 standard. Back-to-back runs typically vary less than 1%.

Do you tune on the dyno or on the road?

Both. Full dyno development is performed for boost, fuel, and ignition mapping under controlled load. Road testing is then used to validate driveability, part-throttle response, and transient behaviour. Every CADE tune includes both dyno and road validation.

Can you validate tunes from other tuners?

Yes. Pre-purchase dyno validation is a popular service for people buying used tuned cars. We run baseline pulls, read the ECU for tune version, scan for codes, and provide a written report on what the car is actually producing vs what was claimed. From $350 (inc GST).

How long does a dyno session take?

A standard dyno pull and report takes 30–60 minutes. Full custom tune sessions with ECU mapping take 3–6 hours. Complex Stage 3 tune development can take 1–2 full days on the dyno.
